Developed in association with Amazon.com, “the Earth’s biggest bookstore,” the FontSite Bookstore offers a huge selection of hand-picked books on typography and design. Most of the books are available at discounts of 20% off the cover price, many at discounts as high as 30%. The FontSite provides the focus and selection — Amazon.com handles the order processing and shipping.
To order a book, or simply read more about it, just click its link. There’s no obligation to buy, and you can browse as long as you like. Feel free to use this as a bibliography. If you decide to purchase a book, you can do so online via Amazon.com’s Netscape Secure Commerce Server, which encrypts any information you enter, or complete only the order information online and call Amazon’s 800 number and process payment information offline. Amazon.com accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, as well as checks and money orders.
Note on out-of-print books: Some of the books listed here are out of print, but they’re ones we consider important to a serious collection of type books. You can place orders for out-of-print books, and Amazon.com will attempt to locate a used copy for you. You won’t be charged for the search. We also suggest purchasing out-of-print books from the Oak Knoll Books web site, and have provided links to them for certain titles.

The NEW notation next to a title indicates that it was included in the latest set of books reviewed. Please note that we do not track availability of these books and more of them may be out-of-print than are indicated here.
