500 CD catalog of typefaces in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
The catalog shows samples of each typeface on the CD, and
it’s completely searchable. The file is rather large
(1.5 MB), so you may want to skip it if you have a slow
connection.

There are 220 typefaces
on the CD, each available in both PostScript Type 1 and TrueType
formats. An asterisk * next to a typeface
name indicates an extended family, e.g., light and heavy weights, in addition
to the regular weights and variations.
The typefaces are listed by category — Garalde, Transitional, Didone,
Slab Serif, Sans Serif, Script, Uncial, Blackletter, Borders/Symbols and
Decorative. My book Digital Type Design Guide provides more detailed
sub-categorization, but for the purposes of this list, a simple categorization
scheme will suffice.

Note: It may appear from reading this list
that there are more decorative fonts than text fonts on the CD,
but keep in mind that the decorative fonts generally only comprise
a single weight or variation, whereas a Garamond Condensed, for
example, consists of six weights, even though only the base family
